Time for a new tip for you all.
Offer Incentives.
I find this a a brilliant way to boost sale and encourage people to buy more than they usually would. You obviously need to look at your customers and then set the cut off point for the incentives. For example if your customers usually spend around £13 if you offer a free gift for spending £15 in the book then it will encourage them to spend a little bit more.
Here are some I have tried and how well they have gone.
  • Spend over £15 and receive a free gift - this works for some people but others just spend there usual amount although they are likely to keep ordering if they are getting something extra
  • Refer a friend and get a free gift - can be a good way to boost your customer base you just have to hope that friend doesn't live too far away
  • Take your book to work and have 10% of the order value to spend in the book - as these orders are ones you would of never got on your own they are a bonus anyway so making less commission on them doesn't really matter, not many people will take you up on this but its worth a try
  • A free sample with every £5 spent. - samples are cheep so you are not giving much away and it shows that you value the small orders but also that you value the orders from the customers that spend more and they are happy that you think they deserve more.

Try a few of those out and watch your orders increase
